After the highs of wins for both sides two weeks ago, we had the lows of two wash-outs last week, where the 2s only needed to bowl another 15 balls to complete a victory. This week the weather appears to be improving for the weekend ahead. We have two talented sides out again this week and are hoping for some big points.
Tom Dawson’s performance for the 2s on a tricky track has earnt him a first call up to the 1s (first of many I hope). The 1s welcome what will likely be a strong Middleton side but with a strong core to the team, plus the return of Hugo March and Hoppo we should be able to take the game to them.
The 2s take a young, but very talented, side down to East Preston (lifts likely to be required from parents pls!). Henry Sunderland will be captaining the side for the first time and with the experience of a couple of senior pro’s and plenty of young talent, I hope we can bring home another win that is likely to keep us very close to the top of the table.
If we focus on our strengths and have confidence in our execution on the pitch I have no doubt these sides are capable of getting another two wins for WGCC!
